Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo

01494 512000 A sharp and hilarious satire on police corruption, Accidental Death of an Anarchist is Tight Fit Theatre‘s second production in the Wycombe Swan Town Hall. Mark Oldknow, who brought Bouncers to life in January now turns his attention to a comic masterpiece from Italy‘s leading satirical playwright.

During police interrogation a railway worker jumped from a window˜in front of seven police officers. The window was wide open˜in the middle of winter. He sustained a injury to his neck˜whilst falling.

He jumped at 11.57 pm or 12.03 am˜depending on which police statement you choose to read. A true story about Guiseppe Pinelli forms the basis for the play.

This adaptation, by Alan Cumming and Tim Supple and written for the Royal National Theatre‘s 1988 tour, is brought to life in an exciting and dynamic new production.

Tight Fit Theatre in Education

summer

school What a busy week it was, sheltering indoors from the August heat with 30 enthusiastic young people. And what a great surprise to receive a letter from Rachael, whose enthusiasm is yet to subside! Modesty (and space) prevents me from publishing more than:

”the GREATEST week I've had doing drama!•!

Thanks Rachael. And thanks to all the other participants for all their hard work. What a great show!

On a more mundane note, there were a few leftovers (items of lost property) so if you're missing anything please call us to arrange delivery or collection.

Supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England.

christmas

Entertainment for all the family is on the cards when Alice finds herself sent to Pantoland on a quest.

Traditional pantomime has been combined with an original script to produce another hilarious Tight Fit panto:

Alice in Pantoland

Our 1996 panto Robin Hood, the Early Years, also written by Mark and Carla, was described in The Buckinghamshire Advertiser as a ”perfect recipe for panto fun• and ”excellent•.

For many years Beaconsfield had its own pantomime at the Chiltern Theatre˜a tradition we are proud to revive.

1998

Many will remember the pairing of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in the Movie, and Jack Klugman and Tony Randall in the spin-off TV series in the seventies and repeated somewhere today. The Odd Couple is probably Neil Simon‘s best loved comedy.

Divorced from his wife, Oscar lives in the cheerful chaos his carefree nature thrives on. Into the midst of his smoke-laden, beer-sodden weekly poker session, comes Felix, newly separated from his wife and, so he says, suicidal. At Oscar's invitation Felix moves in and is soon finding comfort in performing, with the same thoroughness which lost him his wife, the cooking, cleaning, polishing and laundry until Oscar is almost reduced, by continuous nagging, to a nervous wreck.

Another outing to the Wycombe Swan, The Odd Couple will be performed on 25—28 February, 1997.

schools questionnaire

Last term, and with a little help from South Bucks District Council, we sent questionnaires to local schools to offer our help in education.

Of the questionnaires returned, one was pulled out of the hat on 15th August and has won two pairs of tickets for Accidental Death of an Anarchist so, congratulations, Mrs Judy Smith of Dropmore County First School. Your tickets await you.

Now that term has started we hope that more of the questionnaires will be returned. If fresh copies are required, please phone Beech Cottage: 08707 450977.

A Charity Revue

I am very pleased to report that we raised £200 for the Michael Wiseman Memorial Trust from the Revue. Thanks for the support.

The winner of the programme draw for two pairs of tickets to see Accidental Death of an Anarchist is Wendy Reilly of Penn Road, Beaconsfield. Your tickets await you.

Tight Fit Training

the human resource

by Tim Hill & Ian R. Wallace.

I am pleased to say that, after a false start earlier in the year, the live action for this training film is now 'in the can'. Once the Director (Ian) has returned from his holiday the task of editing will begin. (Please?!)

When that is complete the accompanying trainers' pack will be finished and the package released.

Much interest has already been shown in this management training resource which tackles the difficult subject of communication in the workplace. It is envisaged that the film will be the catalyst for discussions about interpersonal relationships and in writing the script for the video, Ian and I drew on many years' experience of countless individuals; we incorporated many real facets into the characters.

Jim De Berg (Frank Harling), an Area Sales Manager for Tallboy Toys, has recently 'inherited' another region. He is visited by Martin, one of his new region's best salesmen but they never really 'hit it off'. Jim's relationship with his Secretary, Sheila (Helen Salisbury) may not be what he thinks either.

Jim, being an amalgam, has a number of traits many of us would rather not exhibit. Why then have so many people said: "I know someone just like that"?

Because, sadly, everyone knows a manager like Jim.
