In Brief

October 2005: Macbeth

Welcome again to this, our tenth anniversary season. Our new look at Macbeth finished its short run and I want to begin by apologising to anyone who came along on the Thursday evening, only to be turned away at the door because we were full (hurrah!). I hope you were able to come along on Friday or Saturday instead.

It hasn't made it to the paper yet but Helen Sharman GoDA (Guild of Drama Ajudicators) has kindly allowed access to her review. You will find it linked from Macbeth's home page along with the production photos.

December 2005: Jack and the Beanstalk

Rehearsals for our Christmas panto continue apace and if the show is half as funny it will be hilarious. As you may already know, this year sees a return to the silly boy who sells the family livestock for a few 'magic' beans. Philip Green he ain't. Good clean fun brought to you by the best amateur and 'resting' professional actors from the local area. Book now. 01494 677236

March 2006: Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë in a new adaptation by our very own Carla Quelch is to be performed at the Swan Town Hall in March of next year. This is a very exciting project as the book has, perhaps surprisingly, very few stage adaptations. Expect it to get the Tight Fit Theatre treatment.

News: Murder Mysteries

Another reminder about our Murder Mysteries follows. We have been performing versions of An Act of Murder for some time, helping schools and others raise much needed funds for their organisations. More recently we have developed The Nineteenth Hell following requests for something more specific from golf clubs. Whether your organisation wants a fun fund raiser or just a fun evening, please get in touch. These events can be booked up to a year in advance.

Feature: Does Your Computer Send Viruses?

Does your computer send us Viruses without you knowing? Just to continue our techie notes from last month, I have published below a number of email addresses which have shown up in recent attempts at virus distribution to us. Perhaps that will help identify the culprit.

Tight Fit Theatre in the Community presents again arguably its favourite panto in an exhilarating new production to continue our tenth anniversary season. Jack sells cow. Gets beans. Grows beanstalk and climbs it. Perhaps to some surprise he isn't the idiot of the piece. With Mark Oldknow as the Dame, Nell Charleston as Jack, and ex-Mayor of Beaconsfield, Paul Henry as the King.

In 2001, Tight Fit Theatre in the Community's pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk
"delighted the audience ... the younger members of the audience were entranced ... one of the best pantomimes I have seen in ages" - Bucks Free Press

Tight Fit Theatre presented arguably Shakespeare's greatest tragedy in an exhilarating new production to launch our tenth anniversary season.

Scotland is a country scarred by war - its King seen as weak and vacillating - its future uncertain. Cometh the hour cometh the man - a hero who will murder his way to the top spurred on by his young wife, her veins coursing with an unhealthy lust for power, and led onto his path by three witches with their own agenda. Mark Oldknow directs this powerful and bloody play creating an evening which is bound to thrill. The Wycombe Swan's resident company remains committed to producing visually dynamic work with an emphasis on textual clarity.

Reviews and production photos are now accessible from the show's home page.

so is it your computer sending

Viruses?

Following on from my rant last month, we continue to see somebody's computer trying to send viruses. Here is a list of email addresses which have been extracted from someone's machine and used to forge the email's headers. If you recognise these addresses, it may well be your machine which is infected, particularly if it was switched on and connected to the 'net at 13.40 on 5th October.

Good, free, anti-virus software is available for download from free.grisoft.com or look for their program AVG Free on magazine cover discs.

Another 'infection' which slows your machine down is spyware. These are small programs which hide away and monitor what you do. These can be removed using a number of free programs including Ad-Aware SE Personal.
