October: | v Macbeth |
December: | v Jack and the Beanstalk |
Welcome to this, our tenth anniversary season. You will see we have resurrected a couple of old favourites to celebrate ten years, beginning with a new look at Macbeth (tickets now on sale). It is pleasing to know that our past shakespearian productions have received unsolicited letters from students saying things like "without seeing your production I would never have passed my GCSE". So, if you are reading this and are studying the play, or know someone who is, book early to avoid disappointment. Discounts are available from the Swan box office (01494 512000) for larger parties. The matinee on Thursday has been arranged particularly with schools in mind and will include a post-show Q&A with the cast and director.
For Christmas this year we return to the silly boy who sells the family livestock for a few 'magic' beans. It sounds like the privatisation of public utilities and probably is, but children of all ages will enjoy the fun. If you haven't been to one of our Community Pantomimes, why not? It doesn't have any boy band members in it who can't act or other minor celebrities with dubious talents. Just good clean fun brought to you by the best amateur and 'resting professional' actors from the local area.
At last! All 235Mb of the v Private Lives production photos are now online.
Have a good summer. Please note that our administration office will be closed for the whole of August. Urgent matters should please be directed by email to < mark (at) oldknow dot co dot uk >

Was this a last opportunity to see this masterpiece with the cigarette smoking called for in the script? Will theatres have to become clubs with members in order to circumvent the impending pro-clean-air legislation?

Tight Fit Theatre presents arguably Shakespeare's greatest tragedy in an exhilarating new production to launch their tenth anniversary season.
Scotland is a country scarred by war - its King seen as weak and vacillating - its future uncertain. Cometh the hour cometh the man - a hero who will murder his way to the top spurred on by his young wife, her veins coursing with an unhealthy lust for power, and led onto his path by three witches with their own agenda. Mark Oldknow directs this powerful and bloody play creating an evening which is bound to thrill. The Wycombe Swan's resident company remains committed to producing visually dynamic work with an emphasis on textual clarity.

Tight Fit Theatre in the Community presents again arguably its favourite panto in an exhilarating new production to continue their tenth anniversary season.
Jack sells cow. Gets beans. Grows beanstalk and climbs it. Are you thinking what we're thinking?
In 2001, Tight Fit Theatre in the Community's pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk
"delighted the audience ... the younger members of the audience were entranced ... one of the best pantomimes I have seen in ages"
